Jennifer joined the Centre for British Studies as a student in 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English Linguistics from Justus-Liebig University, Gießen, and graduated from the Master in British Studies programme in 2014. Her current research interests are the interaction of science policies with research funding and academic freedom in the United Kingdom and Germany and the changing status of universities. Previously, she has done research in the field of Second Language Acquisition and Corpus Linguistics.

As part of her university education, she spent a semester at the University of Wolverhampton, UK, and has worked at the European and international department of a city council. Before joining the Berlin Graduate School of British Studies, she was a trainee at an EU institution in Brussels.

In December 2014, Jennifer became a member of the Graduate School to write her PhD thesis on science policies and the peer review process in public research organisations in the UK and Germany.  

Jennifer is also a member of the Gesellschaft für Hochschulforschung (GFHF) and has been awarded a scholarship for her PhD project by the Excellence Initiative.
