Prof Dr Roland Wenzlhuemer was a Junior Researcher and Lecturer at the Centre for British Studies from 2005 until 2008. He holds the Chair for Modern History at the University of Munich. In his research he focuses mainly on the fields of global and colonial history. He has worked extensively on the history of global communication networks in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He currently leads a substantial research project on the experience of transit during long-distance ship passages and works on the conceptual foundations of the field of global history.
